Lancaster man gets life for 2012 murder by strangulation

A Lancaster man was found guilty Wednesday in the 2012 murder of a woman found strangled in an abandoned house.

A Lancaster County jury found Terry Catoe, 43, guilty in the murder of Linda Gaymon, 54, according to Sixth Circuit Solicitor Randy Newman. A judge sentenced Catoe to life in prison.

Catoe has been free on $50,000 bond since late 2012, court records show.

Gaymon was found dead inside a dilapidated home on Starnes Street in the Brooklyn Avenue area of Lancaster. The cause of death was determined to be asphyxiation.

The trial began Monday and the case went to the jury Wednesday.
