York County Satan’s Disciples gang member sentenced to 20 years for drugs, guns
LAKE WYLIE A York County Satan’s Disciple gang member who avoided prison for a 2012 killing was sentenced to 20 years in prison Thursday for using guns while dealing drugs, federal prosecutors said.
James Matthew Polk, 24, pleaded guilty in August to selling drugs out of a mobile home near Lake Wylie. Polk was charged in a 2012 killing near Clover but prosecutors ruled that the shooting was self-defense. Polk was caught in a local, state and federal drug sting in April then admitted he had a gun as he sold drugs.
Polk, an admitted gang member with ties to the group known for street and prison crime, was barred from having a gun from a previous federal conviction and a 20099 York County conviction for burglary.
