Lake Wylie man charged with fondling young girl
A 74-year-old Lake Wylie man was charged late last week with fondling a young girl who is developmentally disabled, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.
George Harris Jr., 74, of Cutter Point Drive in LakeWylie, was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, according to jail records. He was placed in the York County Detention Center, where he remained Monday under $25,000 bond.
The state Department of Social Services sent a referral to the sheriff’s office in November concerning “inappropriate touching” of a developmentally delayed girl, according to a sheriff’s report. Detectives conducted an investigation with DSS.
Investigators obtained a warrant for Harris on Thursday and arrested him.
