Man charged in sex assault at Rock Hill home

Rock Hill Police on Monday charged a man connected with a December sex assault, according to law enforcement records.

Derrick Mobley, 44, was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to jail records. He was placed in the Rock Hill city jail and later released under $100,000 bond.

Mobley is accused of raping a woman in her home on Dec. 16, according to a police report. The victim, who described Mobley as a family friend, told officers he tried repeatedly to climb into bed with her before he sexually assaulted her.
