A York man accused of shoplifting from a Rock Hill store is also facing drug charges after police found methamphetamine and prescription drugs on him, according to police.

Officers responded to a shoplifting call at Home Depot about 4:30 p.m. Monday, according to a police report. Store employees told them Donald Brewer, 29, of York, took a phone charger without paying.

Brewer gave officers consent to search him, and they found a mint container with 1.97 grams of methamphetamine inside, police said. He also had two doses of Alprazolam and three doses of Oxycodone inside the container.

Brewer told police he had used meth a few days earlier and had the pills for back pain.

Brewer was charged with shoplifting, possession with intent to distribute Schedule II drugs, possession of Schedule II drugs and possession of Schedule IV drugs, according to the report. He was placed in the Rock Hill city jail, where he remained Tuesday under $12,000 bond.
