No arrests in Rock Hill drive-by shooting near Heckle Blvd.
Police are still investigating an apparent drive-by shooting Tuesday afternoon that left a man with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The shooting happened just before 4 p.m. on the 700 block of Grier Street, according to a police report released Wednesday. One witness said a green vehicle pulled up as she went inside the home, and someone inside the vehicle began firing.
Police say they recovered several shell casings in the street, driveway and yard.
Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Heckle Boulevard and were told that the victim had just left in a silver Honda, the report states. When they stopped the vehicle near Heckle and Crawford Boulevard, the driver said he was taking his friend to the hospital for a gunshot wound. The victim was in the passenger seat, bleeding.
EMS transported the victim to a hospital, police said. It’s still not clear what prompted the shooting, and a Rock Hill Police spokesman said Tuesday afternoon that the victim is not cooperating with investigators.
The case remains under investigation.
