A Rock Hill man was jailed on drug distribution charges Friday after officers found a grocery bag with more than 65 grams of marijuana in his car during a traffic stop, according to police.

Officers pulled over a vehicle on Anderson Road about 11:10 p.m. Friday after the driver changed lanes without a turn signal, according to a police report. They smelled marijuana as they approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Santavius Pickett.

While Pickett reached for his paperwork in the glove compartment, police say they noticed a small amount of loose marijuana on the floorboard between his legs. Pickett gave officers permission to search his car.

Under the front passenger seat, police found a plastic grocery bag containing 65.11 grams of marijuana, the report states. Pickett told police the marijuana was his.

A passenger in the car was released from the scene and took control of the vehicle, police said. Pickett was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and placed in the Rock Hill city jail, where he was released Saturday under $5,000 bond.
