Two masked men armed with a knife and a gun robbed a couple in their Indian Land home Wednesday night and fled in the couple’s vehicle, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

The home invasion happened around 8:30 p.m. at a home on the 6900 block of Cureton Taylor Drive, off U.S. 521, in northern Lancaster County, according to Doug Barfield, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

A female victim told deputies she was outside with the couple’s dog when two masked men – one with a gun and the other with a knife – approached her.

The suspects took the woman inside, where they tied her and her husband to chairs and covered their heads, Barfield said. The masked men demanded money, and took cash and firearms before leaving in the couple’s pickup. The victims were able to free themselves and call for help.

Deputies say the husband received minor injuries during the incident and was treated and released from a medical facility.

The suspects were described as black males. One is about 5-foot-7 and the other is about 5-foot-9, investigators say. Both were dressed in black and wearing masks. The gun is described as a black handgun with a long barrel.

The couple’s vehicle is a black four-door Chevrolet Silverado pickup with South Carolina tag number USA 7490. The pickup has a dent on the driver’s side.

“We encourage anyone who sees this truck or knows anything about this case to contact us,” Sheriff Barry Faile said. “These men committed a violent crime and are armed and dangerous.”

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspects or the pickup is asked to call the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office at 803-283-3388 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
