Police: Rock Hill man threw bricks through window, hitting woman
A Rock Hill man was charged with assault and battery after throwing a brick through a window, hitting a woman in the head, according to police.
The incident happened about 1 a.m. Thursday at a home on the 400 block of Gettys Street, according to a police report. The victim, who is one of the homeowners, said she was sitting at the kitchen table when the suspect, William Jackson, “began throwing bricks through the window behind which she was seated.”
One of the bricks went through the window and hit the woman on the right temple, causing a cut on her head, police said. The other homeowner said he had previously asked Jackson to leave because he was intoxicated and belligerent.
The female victim said she heard Jackson tell her to “call the police because he was going to give police a reason to arrest him.”
The victim was taken by EMS to a hospital. Officers found a broken window in the kitchen and two bricks on the floor.
Jackson was charged with third-degree assault and battery and taken to the Rock Hill city jail. He was released Thursday under $800 bond.
