Chester city employee charged with selling alcohol in his home
A Chester city employee was charged with illegally selling alcohol out of his home, according to the Chester Police Department.
Raymond Woods, 55, was charged with unlawful selling of beer without a permit and unlawful selling of liquor without a license, according to Keisha Tobias, a Chester police spokesperson.
Woods’ arrest came after officers from multiple agencies, including the Chester Police Department, the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office and the State Law Enforcement Division executed a search warrant at Woods’ home on the 100 block of Edward Street on Saturday, Tobias said.
Woods is an employee of Chester’s Public Works Department, Tobias said. His employment status with the city wasn’t clear Monday afternoon.
