2 students arrested, 4 cited in fight at York Comprehensive High
Two students were arrested and four others were cited Tuesday after a fight over students’ being “disrespectful to each other” at York Comprehensive High School, according to police reports.
York police arrested Sammi Garcia, 18, of 835 Acclaim Drive, York; and Nardarius Davion Williams, 17, of 609 Marvin Drive, York. Both were charged with assault and battery, disorderly conduct and disturbing schools, according to a police booking report.
A 15-year-old student and three 16-year-old students also were cited and released to their parents after the incident at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday, according to the report.
It was the second fight at the high school in as many days, according to York police. On Monday, a 15-year-old student was cited for punching another student in the face.
On Tuesday, a York police officer responded when an assistant principal called for help with a fight in a hallway near the in-school suspension room, according to a police report.
All six students were fighting each other, the report said. The police officer and three high school administrators separated the students and took them to the main office.
A video showed the fight began when one student punched another in the face in the hallway, the report said. Both students ran around the media center to a second hall and met other students who became involved.
In the second hallway, a third and fourth student began arguing and “fighting each other after exchanging several words,” the report said. Two of the juveniles joined Garcia and Williams in a fight against two other juveniles, according to the report.
Williams and Garcia were taken to the York Police Department to be booked and were released on a summons, records show.
Principal Chris Black said the students involved would be disciplined according to school district policies.
