Police on Sunday arrested a man in connection with a shooting across from a Rock Hill elementary school earlier this month.

Quadravious Lee Strong, 19, of Rock Hill, was arrested during a traffic stop and charged with armed robbery and criminal conspiracy, according to law enforcement records. He was placed in the Rock Hill city jail, where he was awaiting a bond hearing Monday.

Strong is one of two suspects believed to be responsible for a Feb. 4 shooting at a home on the 1000 block of Finley Road, according to Capt. Mark Bollinger. Gunshots were reported that afternoon across from Finley Road Elementary School, putting the school on lockdown.

The shots were fired during an armed robbery, Bollinger said. Strong and another man allegedly robbed a person of cash at gunpoint where the shooting happened. Police believe the second suspect was armed, and that Strong went through the victim’s pockets to find money.

“When the victim pulled off from the robbery, the partner fired a couple of shots, several of which struck the house across the street,” Bollinger said.

No injuries were reported but investigators found bullet holes in the home and in a vehicle outside the home. An after-school group was meeting at the elementary school when the incident happened.

Bollinger said investigators are still searching for a second suspect. An identity and description were not available.
