Report: Runner chased into Rock Hill business by man with a knife
A Rock Hill woman said a man with a knife chased her while she was out running Thursday afternoon, according to police.
Officers met with the woman on Ebenezer Avenue about 3 p.m. Thursday, according to a police report. She told police she was running in the 200 block of Stewart Avenue when she saw a suspicious man. She passed the man and continued toward Laurelwood Cemetery, where she normally runs.
The woman said that as she continued running, she heard footsteps behind her, police said. She turned around and saw the man chasing her and holding a knife.
The woman ran to a business on the 200 block of West White Street and into the bathroom, the report states. She told officers the man was behind her as she entered the business and that he was “talking to himself.”
Surveillance footage at the business shows the woman running in through the front door and the suspect following her in, police said. The suspect walked a few feet into the building before turning around and exiting.
No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.
