Police: No charges for man accused of chasing Rock Hill jogger

Rock Hill Police say they will not be charging the man who had reportedly chased a female jogger while wielding a knife last week.

A police spokesman said Wednesday that detectives determined there were no charges applicable in the case.

The woman told police she was was running in the 200 block of Stewart Avenue Thursday afternoon when she saw a suspicious man. She passed the man and continued toward Laurelwood Cemetery, where she normally runs.

The man allegedly followed the woman into Family Trust Federal Credit Union on White Street.

Surveillance footage at the business shows the woman running in through the front door and the suspect following her in, police said. The man walked a few feet into the building before turning around and exiting.

“More information came to light nearing the end of the investigation which resulted in the case being completed with no criminal charges,” Bollinger said.
