Report: Rock Hill driver shot in buttocks by passenger

A 19-year-old woman was shot in the buttocks early Sunday, reportedly by a passenger in the back seat of the car she was driving, according to Rock Hill Police.

Officers responded to the 2200 block of Dave Lyle Boulevard about 2:45 a.m. Sunday in reference to a shooting, according to a police report. The passenger in the front seat said that earlier in the day, she and the driver picked up a friend at a store near Saluda Road and Heckle Boulevard.

Later, while they were driving around and turned onto Mt. Gallant Road, the back seat passenger allegedly shot the driver in the buttocks, the report states. It is unclear if the shooting was intentional or accidental.

The report does not indicate what medical treatment the victim received, or if any charges were filed. The case remains under investigation.
