An officer in the Chester County Detention Center was arrested this week and accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate, according to the Chester County Sheriff’s Office.
Dominiece White, 28, was charged with misconduct in office by a public official, according to a sheriff’s report.
An arrest warrant states White, an officer in the detention center, engaged in a “personal and surreptitious” relationship with an inmate at the facility and that the relationship included “inappropriate and prohibited physical contact.”
Investigators say another inmate at the jail reported Saturday that an inmate and an officer were involved in a relationship and “met in the kitchen pantry,” the report states.
It wasn’t clear how long White had been employed with the detention center, but Chief Deputy Robert Sprouse said she has been fired. White was booked into the jail and has been released.
Sprouse declined to comment on the facts of the case.
