Police: Marijuana substance found in 4-year-old classroom at Rock Hill center

A school nurse found a marijuana substance in a 4-year-old classroom, according to Rock Hill Police.

Officers met with the nurse at The Child Development Center on East Black Street Tuesday afternoon, according to a police report.

Police say the object was a small plastic spoon containing a thick, reddish orange paste wrapped in clear plastic at the head of the spoon. The nurse told officers the object was found at the children’s feet near the book bag cubbies but none of the children claimed ownership.

An officer noted the substance looked like some type of “marijuana hash oil paste,” similar to what is known to law enforcement as “butane honey oil.”

The substance tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as THC, and was submitted to evidence. No charges have been filed.
