Rock Hill middle school student charged after bringing BB gun to school

A middle school student was charged after he brought a BB gun to school in his book bag, according to Rock Hill Police.

Two assistant principals at Saluda Trail Middle School contacted law enforcement Wednesday after receiving information that a student had a gun in his book bag, according to a police report. The officials found the student and his book bag, and during a search of the bag they found a black revolver-style BB gun.

The BB gun, four cartridges and five CO2 cartridges were turned over to police, the report states. The student was taken to his home, where he was charged with carrying a weapon on school property and released to a parent.
