Report: Victim robbed of shoes before Rock Hill shooting

A man was reportedly robbed of his shoes Tuesday afternoon, according to Rock Hill Police.

Officers were called to investigate shots fired on the 800 block of East Black Street about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to a police report. A witness said he saw someone in a gold car shooting at another car in front of it as the cars traveled south on East Black Street and turned right onto Marshall Street and then Flint Street Extension.

The victim called dispatch as he was driving and said he was being shot at by the suspects in a gold 2003 Toyota Camry, police said. He told dispatch he had been “jumped and robbed of his shoes” by the suspects in the Camry.

The victim continued driving onto Interstate 77 south and gave authorities his location, police said. State troopers stopped his vehicle near mile marker 67.

Police say they found a spent .32-caliber shell casing on the 200 block of Marshall Street. No arrests have been made in connection with the shots fired or the alleged robbery.
