Rock Hill police charge wanted man in 2011 home invasion rape

Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a 2011 incident were a man entered his ex-girlfriend’s home while she was asleep and sexually assaulted her.

Tracy L. White, 37, was located Rock Hill investigators Thursday on the 700 block of Carolina Avenue, almost five years after the alleged assault occurred. He’s been charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and first-degree burglary, according to Rock Hill Police.

In August 2011, White reportedly let himself into his a woman’s home on Orr Drive using a spare key. The victim told police she woke up on the her couch to find White in her home.

White reportedly gave the woman a cell phone he had previously taken from her, then told her “you going to give me some of that” and sexually assaulted her, according to a police report.

White then fled the scene on foot. A rape kit was performed and evidence collected from a sheet on the couch.

Officers searched the area around Orr Drive for White at the time, but he eluded capture until Thursday.
