Police in York are investigating the theft of thousands of dollars worth of items from a woman’s camper that were found at a vacant home next door where a squatter had apparently been living, according to police reports.
Police responded to a burglary call Tuesday on Jefferson Street from the representative of a bank that owns the vacant house. Officers said the door had been forced open, and inside they found a bed, blanket, rug and food.
Police talked to the woman next door, who told officers that when she went inside her camper to get it ready for use, she found it had been ransacked. Several stolen items matched the items found in the vacant house next door.
No arrests have yet been made.
