Police: Rock Hill Food Lion worker took $1,100 from cash drawer
A Rock Hill grocery store employee will be charged with breach of trust after taking more than $1,000 in cash from her drawer, according to police.
The loss prevention manager of Food Lion on Heckle Boulevard told officers Tuesday that an employee was $1,139 short on March 17.
Register video showed the employee take money out of the drawer after her last customer left and place the money in her coat pocket, according to a Rock Hill police report. The manager also showed officers the point of sale declaration showing the missing money and the log where the suspect was signed on for that point of sale.
Police tried to call the suspect but the call went straight to voicemail, the report states. Officers obtained a warrant for breach of trust. The suspect’s identity has not been released.
