Fort Mill police: Woman faces 19 forgery counts for Bi-Lo charges
A 21-year-old woman initially arrested for possession of marijuana faces 19 charges of financial transaction card forgery, Fort Mill police said.
Lyssa Mhancy Deslouches of Springfield Gardens, N.Y., tried to use falsely produced pre-paid Visa cards or other similar cards at a Bi-Lo store at 1329 West S.C. 160, Fort Mill, police said.
The amount of the 19 attempted charges varied from 17 cents to $117.50, police said.
Officers were called to the store for a complaint about customers using gift cards to make purchases, police said. Officers talked with Deslouches, smelled marijuana on her, and found her carrying a bag of the substance, a report said.
After she was arrested and charged with marijuana possession, officers found that she was carrying several different gift cards in her clothing and in her vehicle, the report said.
Deslouches was being held Thursday at the York County Detention Center on $48,500 bond.
Financial transaction card forgery is a felony charge, punishable by a fine of $3,000 to $5,000 and/or a maximum of five years in prison for each count.
