Man charged with attempted murder in Rock Hill shooting
A Rock Hill man was charged with attempted murder after a shooting outside of his home Tuesday, according to police.
Jamar Antron Harris, 31, was charged with attempted murder and placed in the Rock Hill city jail, where a judge denied bond, according to jail records.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired on the 100 block of Sidney Street about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to a police report. The suspect had reportedly fired several shots with a small handgun he placed in his pocket, and went into the home from the front porch.
Police say they arrived at the home and spoke with Harris, who matched the suspect description. Harris was arrested and taken into custody, the report states. During the booking process, a .25-caliber shell casing fell from Harris and onto the floor at the evidence counter inside the Rock Hill Law Center.
Capt. Mark Bollinger, a Rock Hill Police spokesman, said Wednesday that Harris lives at the home where the gunshots were reported, and that people were inside at the time.
No injuries were reported, and it’s not clear what prompted the shooting.
