Two men were charged with trafficking heroin after a traffic stop in Fort Mill, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

Matthew Scott Kohut, 24, of Indian Land, and Derrick Ashton Fling, 27, of Fort Mill, were each charged with trafficking cocaine, according to jail records. Fling remained in the York County Detention Center without bond on Tuesday. Kohut was released Saturday under $25,000 bond.

Officers conducting a narcotics investigation saw a 2012 Ford pickup weaving in its lane on U.S. 21 in Fort Mill about 6:30 p.m. Friday, according to a sheriff’s report. They initiated a traffic stop and found the vehicle’s occupants, Kohut and Fling, in possession of six grams of heroin with intent to distribute.

Fling has a previous drug conviction on his record, the report states. No charges were filed for hydrocodone pills found in the truck.
