A woman was charged with animal cruelty after she reportedly left two dogs in a car outside York Technical College.
Rock Hill police were called to the parking lot on South Anderson Road when a passer-by found two medium-sized dogs left in a Ford Escort with the windows partially cracked.
The officer who responded noticed the dogs didn’t have any food or water in the car. The temperature around 4:20 p.m. Monday was about 87 degrees, the police report notes.
Forty-five minutes after the officer arrived, Destinee Hailey, 23, returned to the car and reportedly admitted she left the dogs in the car.
Hailey was charged with ill treatment of animals and taken to the Rock Hill city jail, the report states. The dogs were released to one of Hailey’s co-workers.
