5 arrested for guns, drugs after raid at Rock Hill home
York County drug agents arrested five men Wednesday after a raid on a Rock Hill home turned up cocaine, crack, marijuana and three handguns – including a fully-loaded Uzi 9mm pistol with a 25-round extended magazine, police said Thursday.
The York County Multijurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit moved in on the house at 176 Bynum Ave. at 5 p.m. after an undercover agent had made a crack purchase there, said Marvin Brown, commander of the unit. Police also had received complaints that several people had been selling drugs from the residence.
The home is within a half-mile of Boyd Hill Park.
According to a police report, agents seized during the raid:
▪ 83.8 grams of cocaine
▪ 4.8 grams of crack
▪ 3.5 grams of marijuana
▪ A Ruger P89 9mm pistol
▪ A Cobra .380 ACP pistol
▪ An Uzi 9mm pistol, with a 25-round extended magazine
The five men – two from Rock Hill, two from Lancaster and one with an unknown address – each was charged with multiple drug and gun offenses, Brown said.
Charged in connection with the raid, according to the report, were:
▪ Daviahne Xavious Duncan, 20, of Lancaster
▪ Quancy Christopher McNeil, 29, of Rock Hill
▪ William Otis Thompson, 60, of Rock Hill
▪ Keshawn Obryan Wade, 25, of Lancaster
▪ Lashawn Devert White, 22, address unknown
McNeil, Thompson, Wade and White are each charged with trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to deliver crack, possession with intent to deliver cocaine in proximity to a park, possession with intent to deliver crack in proximity to a park, possession of marijuana, and possession of a pistol during the commission of a violent crime, according to the report.
McNeil, Wade and White also are each charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol, according to the report.
Thompson – who lives at the Bynum Avenue home where the raid took place – is also charged with distribution of crack (third offense) and distribution of crack in proximity to a park (third offense), according to the report. The trafficking and crack possession charges against Thompson also are third-offense charges.
Duncan is charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession with intent to deliver cocaine in proximity to a park, according to the report.
