A man wrecked his motorcycle after yelling obscenities at Rock Hill police officers, according to police records.

An officer responded to a reckless driver at the corner of Mt. Gallant and Celanese roads just before midnight Sunday, according to a police report. Three other officers already on scene said the driver, Eduardo Fernandez, was yelling obscenities at them. Fernandez then “goosed” his motorcycle engine and popped a wheelie but lost control of the bike, laying it on its side.

Fernandez and his passenger declined medical attention, police said. An officer noticed a 24-ounce beer can at Fernandez’s feet, and both Fernandez and his motorcycle were covered in beer.

Police say they asked Fernandez if he’d had anything to drink, and he agreed to field sobriety testing, which determined he was not too impaired to drive.

Fernandez, who did not have a motorcycle license and only had a beginner’s permit, was charged with reckless driving, no motorcycle driver’s license and open container, according to the report. He was placed in the Rock Hill city jail.
