Report: Suspects shoplifted $800 in dog collars from Fort Mill Cabela’s
Two people are accused of taking taking $800 in electronic dog collars from a Fort Mill store, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.
An employee at Cabela’s told deputies Sunday that a man placed several Garmin dog collars in a turkey lifting rack box, taped the box and gave it to an accomplice to take to checkout and purchase, according to a sheriff’s report.
The box rang up as $20 but contained about $800 worth of electronic dog collars.
When confronted by law enforcement, the woman who tried to check out said she, her boyfriend and another friend had done this “several times” before and that it was their friend’s idea, deputies said. The woman was charged with shoplifting.
No other arrests have been made.
