Dog shot, drugs located during Rock Hill domestic
Two people were jailed on multiple drug distribution charges after Rock Hill police found several different kinds of drugs inside a house while investigating a domestic dispute.
Officers received a call about a man with a knife at a home in the 200 block of Wall Street at about 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to a police report. An officer found a broken window on the back side of the home and yelled twice to see if anyone was inside. While waiting for a response, the officer said a tan and white pit bull began charging toward him.
The officer drew his duty weapon and fired a single shot, the report states, hitting the dog in the head and killing him. A neighbor told police a woman was still inside the house, so officers conducted a safety sweep and found Daisy Diaz, 20, huddled in the bathroom of a front bedroom.
Diaz, who had cuts on her arm and was bleeding, told officers she woke up David Eugene Allen, 32, and he “flipped out” on her and began physically assaulting her. A witness said he saw Allen drag Diaz out of the house and begin beating her. He then ran behind the house with a knife and jumped a fence, the report states.
Inside the home, officers found quantities of heroin, the drug MDMA (commonly called ecstasy or Molly) and a handgun reported stolen from Charlotte, police said.
Diaz was charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute Xanax and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, according to the report. She also faces additional charges of possession with intent to distribute in proximity of a park or school for each of the drugs.
Diaz was placed in the Rock Hill city jail, where she remained Wednesday with a hold placed on her for York County.
Allen was arrested on the same charges and also faces charges of second-degree criminal domestic violence and possession of a stolen handgun, according to the report. He remained jailed Wednesday under $6,500 bond.
