Rock Hill man who wanted cash for beer, cigs poured paint on woman
A man was charged with assault after he poured paint over a woman who would not give him money for beer and cigarettes, according to a Rock Hill police report.
Christopher Penrow, 42, was charged Thursday with third-degree assault and battery and use of a vehicle without permission, according to a report.
Police were called to a home at 229 S. Stonewall Ave. around 6 p.m. Thursday, where they met two people who said their roommate, identified as Penrow, assaulted a third person and then left in a vehicle owned by one of the two roommates who reported the incident, a report said.
Police found the victim on the floor of a back porch, covered in green paint, the report said. The victim said she and Penrow argued because she “would not give him money for beer and cigarettes,” the report said.
The victim told police Penrow hid near the back door and dumped a gallon of paint over her when she walked through the door, then pushed her, causing her to slip and fall, the report said. She was unable to get up.
The victim did not want to be taken to a hospital, the report said.
One of the two roommates said Penrow took the key to her car and left without permission to use the vehicle, the report said.
Officers found Penrow on the porch of a neighbor’s house, where he was arrested and charged. At the Rock Hill Law Center, Penrow admitted he poured paint over the victim and said he took the car keys, but he said a friend drove him to the store, the report said.
Police found the car keys in Penrow’s pocket, the report said.
