A Rock Hill child had to climb a tree to escape a pit bull after the dog bit him, according to a police report.

The child, 13, was found in a tree on Nicholson Avenue by another child, with the dog barking at the base of the tree “attempting to continue the attack,” the Rock Hill police report states.

Officers saw bite marks on the child’s leg once they were able to get him down from the tree. They then took him home to his parents so he could get medical attention. Police found the dog, unleashed, in the side yard of another house.

The dog’s owner, Michael Aguilar, 22, told officers the dog must have escaped from his yard, according to the report. Aguilar was cited for violation of Rock Hill’s dog law and animal control was notified, police said.
