Rock Hill police found cocaine and marijuana in a vehicle after pulling the driver over for running a stop sign, according to law enforcement records.

Officers saw a silver Ford Focus drive through a stop sign at Walnut Street and Keels Avenue at about 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to a police report. They stopped the car, and the driver parked illegally in front of 341 Workman St.

While the driver, Danash Johnson, was looking for her registration, an officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the car, police said. Johnson told officers she and a friend had been smoking a few minutes before the traffic stop, and gave officers permission to search the car.

Police say they found 2.98 grams of crack cocaine in the right pocket of a denim vest in the center console of the vehicle, and 1.38 grams of marijuana in a plastic baggie in Johnson’s purse.

Johnson was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of marijuana, the report states.
