2 jailed after cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana found in Lancaster Co. drug bust

Two men were arrested after a Thursday drug bust in Lancaster County during which officers found marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine and cash, authorities said.

Officers carried out the bust at 622 N. Market St. early Thursday, according to Doug Barfield, a spokesman for the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office. During the search, officers found 33 grams of suspected cocaine, almost 5 ounces of suspected marijuana, 46 ecstasy pills and 10 grams of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, which is commonly known as MDMA or “Molly.”

Investigators also seized a handgun magazine and ammunition, drug paraphernalia items and more than $1,500 cash, Barfield said.

Demario Randell Buchanon, 33, of 622 N. Market St. was charged with trafficking cocaine between 28 and 100 grams, trafficking cocaine within proximity of a school, possession with intent to distribute MDMA and possession with intent to distribute MDMA within proximity of a school, Barfield said. He was also arrested on two other outstanding warrants for distribution of cocaine and distribution of cocaine within proximity of a school in an incident that was investigated by the sheriff’s office earlier this month.

Antonius Lamaz Thompson, 33, of Lancaster, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, Barfield said.

A woman was in the home but wasn’t implicated or charged, Barfield said. Two school-age children were also in the home and were escorted from the home to wait on their school bus. No injuries were reported.

The search was carried out by the sheriff’s office drug task force with assistance from two Lancaster Police Department detectives.
