Chester man sentenced to 20 years for stabbing former girlfriend
A Chester convicted felon who attacked his former girlfriend and mother of his child three times – including the last incident where he stabbed her in the back – was sentenced to 20 years in prison this week.
Anthony Rashun Jennings, 27, pleaded guilty to assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and burglary in a case prosecuted by Karen Fryar of the 6th Circuit Solicitor’s Office. Jennings, who had two previous convictions for domestic violence against the same woman, severed her spinal cord in the brutal attack, prosecutors said.
Just a month before the attack, Jennings was barred from the victim’s property. The woman’s children ran for help when the woman was attacked by Jennings the last time in August 2015. Police found both the victim and Jennings at the scene. Camera footage obtained by a police officer’s video camera on his uniform was crucial to the prosecution.
The victim spent a month in the hospital and had to learn to walk again after recovering from her injuries.
