Police: Rock Hill man cut woman’s chin during argument over text messages
A Rock Hill man was charged Tuesday after police say he slashed his girlfriend’s chin during an argument last month, according to law enforcement records.
Javier Yuron Mason, 31, turned himself in on charges of criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to a police report. He was placed in the Rock Hill city jail and released Tuesday under $6,000 bond.
The warrants stemmed from a May 15 incident at a home on Confederate Avenue. Officers arrived just after 1 p.m. and found the victim bleeding from a large cut on her chin.
The woman told officers she and her boyfriend had been arguing over text messages on his phone when he pulled a pocket knife from his pocket and slashed a horizontal cut across her chin. Mason fled in a black SUV, the report states.
The victim refused medial treatment at the scene and said she would take herself to the doctor, police said.
