Report: Rock Hill robbery victim assaulted while walking home from church
A woman said she was robbed and assaulted by a man while walking home from church Wednesday, according to Rock Hill police.
The incident happened about 11 p.m. on Greentree Court, according to a police report. The victim said she was walking home from church on Irwin Street when a man wearing dark clothing approached her.
The victim told officers the suspect yelled at her to give him her money and then pulled a knife on her. The suspect took her phone and punched her five times in the stomach with the knife in his fist before running away, police said. The victim returned home and tried to explain what happened to her boyfriend’s mother, who could not understand what was going on.
The victim used another phone at home to call 911.
Police say they saw small marks on the victim that “resembled being poked with something sharp.” The victim was taken by EMS to Piedmont Medical Center to be checked out.
No arrests have been made.
