Fort Mill man arrested on multiple child pornography charges
A 52-year-old Fort Mill is facing multiple counts of possessing child pornography after a multi-agency investigation.
James Lee Webb faces 11 counts of sexual exploitation of minors, after investigators say he downloaded pornographic images of children from an online file-sharing platform, according to the South Carolina attorney general’s office.
Webb was arrested Wednesday following an investigation by the York County Sheriff’s Office and investigators from the attorney general’s office as part of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
He faces one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, which can carry up to 10 years for each count. If served consecutively, Webb could face 110 years in a state prison.
As an internet crime targeting children, Webb will be prosecuted by the attorney general’s office.
