Police: Loose dog caused elderly Rock Hill woman to fall
A Rock Hill dog owner was cited after her dog, which was running loose, ran toward an elderly woman and caused her to fall, according to police.
The incident happened about 8:30 a.m. Friday in the 800 block of South Confederate Avenue, according to a police report. The 84-year-old victim said she was walking out of her home to her car when she saw a dark colored pitbull with spots running around her home.
The dog ran toward the woman, causing her to fall, police said. The woman said she went back inside because she was afraid the dog would attack her.
Officers found the dog outside a nearby home on South Confederate Avenue. The owner was cited for violating an ordinance on dogs at large.
The dog will remain in the custody of York County Animal Control until the owner’s court date in August.
