Arrest made in May armed robbery, shooting in Rock Hill

A man was arrested Tuesday night in connection with a May armed robbery during which a man was shot in the arm, according to Rock Hill police.

Willie Meeks III, 28, was charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, said Capt. Mark Bollinger, a Rock Hill police spokesman. He was placed in the Rock Hill city jail, where a judge denied bond Wednesday.

Meeks was charged in connection with a May 19 armed robbery during which the victim was shot in the arm, Bollinger said. The victim was treated at Piedmont Medical Center.

It wasn’t clear what, if anything, was taken during the robbery. The case remains under investigation.
