Rock Hill police charged a man with child endangerment for driving impaired with two children in the back seat, according to law enforcement records.

Colton Jon Bailey, 26, was charged with two counts of child endangerment and DUI, according to a police report.

A York County sheriff’s deputy reported a possibly impaired driver leaving the Walmart on Old York Road about 6:30 p.m. Friday, police say. An officer pulled the vehicle over and spoke with the driver, Bailey, who exhibited multiple signs of impairment.

Bailey admitted to previously taking some type of medication, and told officers he was trying to return home from Walmart when he was pulled over. There were two young children in the back seat, one of whom was Bailey’s daughter.

Bailey was arrested after failing multiple field sobriety tests, police say. He provided a breath sample that yielded a 0.0 percent blood-alcohol content and was asked to provide a urine sample for drug testing.

The mother of one of the children came and took custody of both juveniles, the report states.
