A Clover man is accused of throwing a dog and breaking items at a relative’s home, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

David Rodgers Ramsey, 36, of Cabe Road in Clover, is charged with malicious injury to animals/personal property, according to jail records. He remained in the Moss Justice Center on Tuesday under $1,562 bond.

The female victim, who is a relative of Ramsey, told deputies Sunday that Ramsey threw her dog during an argument over a motorcycle. Deputies say the dog “was limping badly,” and that a window and bowl in the home had been broken.

Ramsey told deputies he didn’t break anything “but he had thrown the dog when it jumped on his ribs.” He added that he broke his ribs a week ago in a vehicle wreck.

Deputies arrested Ramsey, who said he wanted to go to Piedmont Medical Center for his ribs. At the hospital, X-rays determined Ramsey’s ribs were not broken, the report states.
