A Rock Hill man has been charged with four counts of 3rd-degree assault and battery and driving under the influence after police say he shot at a vehicle with a BB gun.
Michael Belk, 69, was also charged with discharging a firearm in the city limits, malicious injury to personal property and open container, according to a Rock Hill police report.
Police say they responded Monday afternoon to a shooting call on Heckle Boulevard, where the victim told officers that Belk shattered his rear driver’s side window.
According to the report, Belk told officers that he had shot the vehicle after the victim had been following too closely. The report states that once Belk shot the BB pistol, he made a U-turn northbound on Heckle.

The victim decided to follow Belk as he called the Rock Hill police dispatch to report the incident.
After police detained Belk following a traffic stop on India Hook Road, officers stated they smelled alcohol on Belk, who was arrested on-scene for DUI. The report states that officers found a black Daisy PowerLine 415 BB pistol between the driver’s seat and the middle console of Belk’s vehicle.
Police say they also found an open container of Bud Light in the center console.
