A man arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop lied to police about who he was, giving officers the name of a NFL player with Rock Hill roots instead, according to a police report.

Police pulled over a minivan on Heckle Boulevard Thursday after the driver failed to use a turn signal. The driver and other passengers cooperated and gave police their identification, but one man said he did not have ID.

The man told police he was Jonathan Joseph - the same name of the Houston Texans cornerback who grew up in Rock Hill and attended Northwestern High and University of South Carolina.

Police eventually determined the man was actually Andra Joseph, 30. It is unclear if the two are related.

Officers also located a bag of methamphetamine and a digital scale belonging to Andra Joseph, the report states.

He was charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and giving false information to police.
