Nation Ford High School to perform ‘Hairspray’

Armed with cans of Ultra Clutch, the Nation Ford High School Performing Art Company in Fort Mill will perform the Broadway hit musical, “Hairspray” over the next few days.

“Hairspray,” which is based on a 1988 movie of the same name, premiered in New York in 2002 and closed in 2009. It won eight Tony Awards in 2003 and was made into a hit movie in 2007.

Nation Ford High theater teacher Cheri Addison directed the show.

This production of “Hairspray” is Nation Ford’s entry into the 2015 Blumey Awards, an awards competition for Charlotte-area high school musical theater performances.

Shows are Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $8 for students, $10 for adults.
