Rock Hill school takes third in statewide STEM competition
A team of students at Saluda Trail Middle School received third place in a statewide STEM competition.
The Saluda Trail group placed behind teams from Clarendon School District and the Lee County School District in the “This School’s Got STEM” competition, hosted by South Carolina Future Minds and Comporium.
Peek’s project was an edible car.
More than two dozen groups from across the state entered the competition, which challenged contestants in public schools to create a video showing off their STEM skills. A team of judges selected the finalists, then there was a public vote on the South Carolina Future Minds Facbeook page.
First, second and third places won $500, $250 and $100, respectively, with the winner receiving an invitation to attend the SC Teacher of the Year Celebration on April 22 in Columbia.
