Applications for Rock Hill’s schools of choice programs are now open.

Through Feb. 28, 2018, parents and guardians can apply for their student to attend one of several choice programs in Rock Hill schools.

Students generally must attend a public school based on where they live. But school choice programs are specialized programs that students can apply to attend, whether or not they are zoned to attend that school.

Rock Hill offers school choice programs in arts, International Baccalaureate, Inquiry, French and Spanish language immersion, Montessori and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math, or STEAM.

Parents can apply on the Rock Hill school district’s website.

“Rock Hill Schools recognizes that each student is unique and our choice/magnet programs are designed to help meet those needs and to nurture students’ talents, interests and aptitudes,” the school district says.

“School choice programs foster parental involvement and high expectations, and gives parents the opportunity to choose the school that will meet their child’s needs,” the school district says.
