York Preparatory Academy sets period for open enrollment. What to know.
York Prepatory Academy has announced open enrollment for the 2023-24 school year. The public charter school will begin accepting applications starting Oct. 15 and ending Feb. 15, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.
York Prep offers K-12 education and serves 130 students at each grade level. Anyone in South Carolina can apply. The school is at 1047 Golden Gate Ct., Rock Hill.
“As a public charter school, we do not have a school zoning like a traditional public school,” said Brooke Bruner, the Enrollment and Outreach Coordinator at York Prep. “Because of this, any student that resides in South Carolina may apply to attend.”
Since York Prep does not offer Pre-K education, there are 130 kindergarten spots available, and a few spots are available between the first and 12th grades.
School officials are hoping to serve more students in the next few years.
“York Prep will be opening a second campus serving K-8th grade in the 2024-25 school year,” Bruner said. “Applications for the second campus will open on our website in October 2023.”
That new campus has been approved and will be located near Pinetuck Golf Course in Rock Hill.
According to the press release, priority enrollment is offered to:
- siblings of current York Prep students
- graduates of York Prep
- children of York Prep employees and/or Board members
Priority enrollment does not guarantee admission into York Prep.
