Seven South Carolina students were hurt Friday morning in a school bus crash in Lancaster County, officials said.

The crash happened around 8 a.m. on Spirit Road. Pictures posted by Lancaster County Fire Rescue on their Facebook page showed a school bus in a yard.

There were 13 students on board, the Lancaster County School District said in a statement released to the media. The seven students transported for treatment had “minor injuries,” after the accident, the statement said.

The district said it sent another bus to take the rest of the students to school, and parents also were allowed to pick up students who were not hurt.

The incident happened in the Rich Hill community, southeast of the city of Lancaster. Officials have not released the ages of the students or what schools they attend. It remains unclear which South Carolina law enforcement agency is investigating the collision.

Lancaster County deputies responded but are not the investigating agency, said Doug Barfield, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.
