Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will have remote learning day Tuesday after storm

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and other area districts will be closed or have remote learning days Tuesday as a result of winter weather hitting the area Saturday and Sunday.

A winter storm brought a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain that started Saturday evening and continued Sunday, coating roadways and sidewalks with a sheen of ice. The area received a rare ice storm warning as a result of the winter precipitation. Temperatures are expected to dip into the single digits Monday night, and lows are projected to remain below freezing until next week.
